CapCut for Beginners: Mobile Video Editing Tips:
CapCut is a powerful, free mobile video editing app that’s user-friendly and packed with features perfect for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and more. Whether you're a content creator or just want to make polished videos for fun, here’s how to get started.
Getting Started
1.Download and Install CapCut
- Available for iOS and Android.
- Free with optional premium features and cloud storage.
2.Start a New Project
- Tap the “+ New Project” button.
- Choose the video(s) or photo(s) from your gallery to import.
Basic Editing Tools
1.Trim & Split:
- Trim: Drag the ends of your video to shorten.
- Split: Tap a spot on the timeline, then hit Split to cut the clip.
2.Delete Clips:
- Tap on a clip and hit the Delete icon to remove it.
3.Speed Control:
- Adjust video speed (slow-mo or fast-forward) with the Speed tool:
- Normal: Speeds up or slows down the entire clip.
- Curve: Create variable speed effects.
Enhancing Your Video
1.Filters & Effects:
- Add color filters or video effects (e.g. glitch, blur, sparkle).
- Use Body Effects for fun motion-based effects (best for dancing videos).
2.Text & Titles:
- Tap Text > Add text to include captions or titles.
- Customize font, animation, color, and shadow.
3.Stickers & Emojis:
- Add animated stickers, emojis, or GIFs to spice things up.
4.Transitions:
- Tap the white square between two clips to add smooth transitions (e.g., fade, slide, zoom).
Sound & Audio
1.Add Music:
- Tap Audio > Sounds to access CapCut's music library or import your own.
- Use Extracted to pull audio from a video file.
2.Voiceover:
- Tap Audio > Voiceover to record your narration directly.
3.Sound Effects:
- Add fun sounds (e.g., claps, swooshes, laughter) from the Sound Effects tab.
Pro Tips for Beginners:
- Use Templates: Explore ready-made templates under the Templates tab for quick edits.
- Keep It Short: Under 60 seconds works best for social media.
- Text Timing: Adjust when text appears using the timeline bar.
- Export in High Quality: Tap Export and select 1080p or 4K for better clarity.
Export & Share:
- Tap the Export icon (top-right corner).
- Choose resolution and frame rate.
- Once rendered, share directly to TikTok, Instagram, or save to your phone.
